  • The visitors jumped out to a fast start in the third quarter as Tregoning (assist from Hall) and Doughty produced back-to-back goals to make it 8-7 with 10:28 left in the third frame.
  • Vermont, however, struck for four straight goals, the final two by Luke Reiter, to widen their lead to 12-7 with 6:56 left in the quarter.
  • The Retrievers refused to go away as they rattled off three straight tallies to cut the deficit to 12-10 early in the fourth quarter. Doughty scored two goals to finish the third frame, and Tregoning capped the run at 13:44.
  • The Catamounts pushed their lead to 14-10 with 9:42 remaining on scores by Tristan Whitaker and Max Frattaroli.
  • Galloway scored a man-up goal, and then Tregoning followed to bring UMBC within 14-12 at the 5:12 mark.
  • Frattaroli gave the hosts some breathing room with 4:20 left as Vermont led 15-12 with 4:20 left.
  • Kyle Hoff scored off a feed from Doughty for the game's final goal with just 42 ticks left.
