Bruna de Padua captured UMBC's third individual gold medal of the champions, as she won the 200 freestyle on the third day of competition at VMI.
de Padua swam a personal best time of 1:48.97, slicing 1.5 seconds off her preliminary time and winning by more than one second. Yesterday, the native of Brazil earned bronze in the 500 freestyle.
Senior
Nyah Stahl nearly reached the podium, posting a personal best mark of 4:28.09 in the 400 individual medley and placing fourth.
Sophomore Telma Maltesjö and senior
Rola Hussein earned fifth place finishes in the 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke respectively.
The championships will conclude with five individual events and the 400 yard freestyle relay finale.
