BALTIMORE – Drexel's Witt Crawford scored with 36 seconds remaining in double overtime to give the visiting Dragons an 11-10 victory over UMBC in the opener for both teams before 1,021 fans at UMBC Stadium.

Corey Myers each tallied twice and Brown added an assist.
The game featured three significant scoring runs, but it was Drexel that produced the final one. Galloway scored his second goal with 9:48 remaining to give UMBC a 10-7 lead. But the Dragons answered with a goal off the ensuing face-off and rattled off two more to knot the score at 10-10 with 3:58 left in the fourth quarter.
UMBC's
Dane Hall hit the post with 3:13 remaining in regulation and the Retrievers had a final possession with 20 seconds left, but could not get a shot off.
The Retrievers outshot DU, 4-1, in the first overtime and attempted the first two shots in the second OT period, before a turnover led to Drexel's game-winner.
The game was tied at 2-2 after 15 minutes, but the vistors outscored UMBC, 4-1, to take a 6-3 lead with 1:46 remaining in the half. Myers scored his first career goal with 33 seconds remaining in the period to get the hosts to within 6-3 at intermission. That goal started a 6-0 Retriever run to put them in the driver's seat at 9-6 at the 90-second mark of the fourth quarter.
Doughty dished off assists on three consecutive goals in that run, including
Dane Hall's man-up goal, the lone extra-man score of the game.
UMBC outshot DU, 49-34, but Drexel goalkeeper Drew McGill was outstanding, making 15 saves. Retriever senior netminder
Jayson Tingue stopped nine Dragon shots on goal.
The face-offs were even at 13 apiece, as UMBC senior
Zach Dudley won 13 of 24 and came up with a team-best seven ground balls.
The Retrievers were also perfect on clears, at 19-of-19.
