  • UMBC dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 decision against the Binghamton Bearcats at Retriever Soccer Park on Thursday evening.
  • UMBC (5-6-1, 1-1-1 America East)) led early, 3-0, as they overwhelmed the visitors over the first twenty minutes of the contest. However, Binghamton scored four unanswered goals, including three over the final 5:21 of the game to shock the Retrievers.
  • Graduate student forward Natasha Munro scored a gorgeous goal in the 14th minute as she scored from the right side of the box after receiving a feed from midfielder Misa Kasparcova. 
  • Senior forward Izzy Binko followed less than four minutes later as she made a long run, eluded a defender, and ripped a 20-yard laser into the upper right corner.
  • Graduate student forward Meghan McKye received a throw-in from senior defender Annie Grove and beat Binghamton keeper Rebecca Kessler in the 21st minute.
  • McKye went over the 30-point mark for her career with her tally versus Binghamton.
  • UMBC leads the league with 194 shots this season.
  • Munro and Binko are tied for 9th in the AE with three goals each. Binko is also tied for 3rd in the conference with two game-winning goals.
  • Payton Schenning is tied for 5th in the league with five assists.
  • Abbey Cowles was named the America East Defensive Player of the Week this past Monday.

    About Vermont
  • The Catamounts kicked off the month of October with a 2-1 win on the road over NJIT on Oct. 3, securing their first conference win of the season. Jill Brody and Emma Warren each found the back of the net for Vermont while Torie Snyder and Kate Bossert each tallied one assist.
  • Vermont has scored first in nine of their 12 matches this season, scoring 14 goals in the first half and nine goals in the second half. Vermont holds a 6-1-2 season record when notching the first goal of the match.
  • The Vermont offense continues to shine, leading the America East Conference in numerous categories including scoring offense (1.92 per game), total goals (23), and total points scored (62). Vermont ranks second in the conference in total shots (168), points per game (5.17), and average assists per game (1.333).
  • Bailey Ayer leads the conference in goal total and point total, securing eight goals and three assists for 19 total points so far this season. Her eight goals are good for 18th nationwide and her 19 points is good for 29th nationwide.
  • Bossert comes in at 4th in the America East in total points, earning 11 total on four goals and three assists. Bossert has tallied a point or more in six of her last eight outings.
  • Sydney Remington cracks the top 20 in America East in total shots, ranking 19th, earning 21 on the season thus far.

  • The Catamounts hold a 12-5-4 all-time record versus UMBC.
  • The Last time these two teams faced each other was last season on Oct. 8 2023, and Vermont came out victorious 3-0 on the road in Baltimore.
