Mak Hill celly after 200 free relay win

Women's Swimming and Diving

Strong Finish for the Women Propels Program to a Combined Second Place Finish; Stennett Wins 1 Meter Dive and Qualifies for NCAA Zones

BALTIMORE -- The UMBC Women's Swimming & Diving team finished the three-day Thomas Murphy Invitiational on a high note to help propel the program to a combined second place finish.

Ember Stennett won the 1 meter dive with an NCAA Zone Cut qualifying score of 277.60.

Bruna de Padua concluded her stellar weekend with a second place finish, while Makaela Hill took third in the 100 free in a time of 51.46, missing second by .10.

Ula Parrill took off over two seconds from her prelim time to take fifth in a loaded 200 breaststroke final.

Nicol Davanzo was out-touched at the wall by .04 to take fourth in the 200 fly with a time of 2:06.34

The 400 free relay team of Ashley Gutshall, Claire Oettinger, Hill and de Padua improved their season best time by over four seconds to finish third in a time of 3:27.06.

The Retrievers return to the pool on Saturday, November 9 when they host VMI and Saint Peter's at 2 p.m. for Professor Recognition Day.
