Nick Kellinger Named Men's Lacrosse Assistant Coach

Tne new Retriever staffer spent the last four seasons at Mount St. Mary's

BALTIMORE - UMBC Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Ryan Moran has tabbed Nick Kellinger to complete his 2023-24 staff as an assistant coach.

Kellinger, a former goalie at the University of Maryland, spent the last four seasons on the coaching staff at Mount St. Mary's University. He served as assistant coach of the defense in 2020 and 2021, moved to that same role on the offense in 2022 and earned the offensive coordinator position in 2023.  Kellinger coached the goalkeepers for his entire tenure in Emmitsburg.

Prior to his work in the collegiate ranks, Kellinger spent the previous nine years coaching at Centennial High School in Ellicott City, MD. He led the Eagles to a 71-36 record over seven years as Head Coach, including a Maryland Class 3A Regional Championship in 2018.

"Coach Chick and Coach Griffin and I are very excited to add Nick to the staff and start working together with him," said Moran. "Not only does he have multiple years coaching experience at the Division I level, he has strong ties to the state of Maryland; growing up in Howard County, playing at the University of Maryland and coaching at the high school and college levels in this state."

Kellinger was the Tournament Director for the Under Armour All America and worked in Sports Marketing and Event Management for Corrigan Sports Enterprises from 2015 through 2021.

The Ellicott City, Md. native was a two-time high school state champion goalie in 2002 and 2004 at Centennial and varsity walk-on at the University of Maryland for Dave Cottle's Terrapins from 2007-08.
