The UMBC Women's Basketball team plays its penultimate home contest of the 2023 calendar year when it hosts Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse on Tuesday night at The Peake. Fans can catch all the action on ESPN+ at 7 p.m.
Three Retrievers reach double-figures, but a fourth quartter rally came up short as the UMBC Women's Basketball team fropped a 68-52 decision to host Manhattan on Sunday afternoon.
The Jaspers built a game-high 19 point lead at 45-26 midway through the third, but UMBC chipped away and cut the deficit to 52-43 less than three minutes into the final frame. The hosts would score 13 of the next 19 points to secure the victory.
Anna Blount and Jaden walker each had a team-high 12 points, with Blount adding nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks.Â

Jaliena Sanchez chipped in seven points and three assists.
UMBC scored the first four points of the second quarter to take a 12-11 lead, but Manhattan responded with a 20-2 run to go up 31-14 The Retrievers scored the final six points of the half to trim the deficit to 11 at the break.
The teams traded baskets to start the third, but a 10-0 Jaspers run gave the hosts the 19-point lead they would not relinquish.
Scouting Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse:
- The Bobcats are currently 4-2 on the season thus far, and play on Monday night at Harcum College in Pennsylvania
- They are coming off a 70-53 win against Bryant & Stratton Albany at Syracuse, NY.
- Eunice Sillong led the team putting up 24 points, while Daja White contributed 21.
- Kadijah Jones had 14 points and added five assists.
