The UMBC women's and men's swimming and diving programs return home on Saturday, Nov. 18 when they welcome Manhattan and St. Peter's to the UMBC Aquatic Complex for the first time. The meet gets underway at 2:00 p.m. and live results will be available on the Meet Mobile app.
The programs will honor several UMBC professors in a 1:40 p.m. pre-meet ceremony.
The women earned 11 trips to the podium in a strong showing versus Howard, UNC Asheville and host VMI at the year-old VMI Aquatic Center on Nov. 11.
For the second time this season, UMBC sophomore
Bruna de Padua earned America East Female Swimmer of the Week honors. de Padua led the way for the Retrievers at VMI by earning gold and setting pool records in both distance freestyle events. She won the 500 with a mark of 5:06.95 and the 1000 with a time of a personal best time of 10:28.77.
Senior captain
Nyah Stahl also won an event for the Retrievers, capturing the 200 backstroke in 2:05.83. Â
The Retrievers will return to action on Dec. 1-3, when they compete in the Bucknell Invitational.
