BALTIMORE – The UMBC men's track and field squad returns to action on Saturday, Jan 14, when they travel to University Park, Pa to compete in the Penn State NIttany Lion Meet. This will be the first of two trips in three weeks by UMBC to "Happy Valley" as they are set to compete in the Penn State Nationals on Jan 27-28.

The Retrievers opened the indoor campaign on Saturday, Dec. 3 when they competed at the Navy Invitational.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Daron Taylor earned bronze in the 1000 meters, besting six Midshipmen with a mark of 2:33.30
- Senior Michael Arnold earned a fifth place finish in the 400 meters, posting a mark of 50.06.
- Sophomore Toren Burr set a personal indoor best with a weight throw of 16.76, placing fifth and moving into ninth place on UMBC's all-time list.
- The 4 x 400 squad of Arnold, Marquis Miller, Nicolas Alphonse and Jaeden Burke finished second to Mount St. Mary's and bested Morgan State, Navy and William & Mary with a mark of 3:18.39
SAME MEET, ONE YEAR AGO
- Sophomore Ibrahim Khairat had a pair of top ten finishes in the long (6.44m) and triple jumps (13.71m).
- Classmate Toren Burr took bronze in the weight throw (16.70m).
- Sophomore Cameron Hindle placed seventh in the mile (4:12.93).
- Sophomore Jaeden Burke took sixth in the 60m (6.93) and fourth in the 200m (21.87).
