BALTIMORE– UMBC women's lacrosse will look to win their second straight when the Retrievers welcome Binghamton to Retriever Soccer Park on Wednesday afternoon. The Retrievers are coming off a 12-11 win at UMass Lowell on Saturday to open America East play.
Claire Bockstie (Forest Hill, Md./Maryvale Prep) provided the heroics with the game winning goal with 15 seconds left.

Scouting the Retrievers:
- UMBC comes into the midweek matchup at 7-4, 1-0 AE after defeating UMass Lowell 12-11 in the waning seconds on Saturday. Bockstie netted her third goal of the game with 15 seconds to lift UMBC to a win.
- Bockstie lead the Retrievers with 44 goals and 13 assists for 57 points. Dymin Gerow (Baltimore, Md./Episcopal) and Kolby Weedon (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) have also scored 30-plus goals at 37 and 31 respectively.
- Megan Halczuk (Fawn Grove, Pa.) has added 16 goals and eight assists with a team-best 70 draw controls.
- Lexi Roberts (Baldwin, Md./Fallston) has seen the most action in net going 5-4 saving 84 shots (.506 pct) and giving up 82 goals (11.86 GAA).
Scouting the Bearcats:
- Binghamton travels to Baltimore at 5-5, 0-1 AE after most recently falling to UAlbany on March 26, 15-11. Binghamton got the deficit to 9-7 after three, but could not complete the comeback. The Bearcats are 3-1 at home compared to 2-4 on the road this year.
- The Bearcats have seven different players with 10-plus goals led by Olivia Muscolino and Abigail Carroll with 18 each. Kenna Newman leads the team with 29 points (16g, 13a) with Sofia Afkham collecting 55 draw controls.
- Emily Manning has seen the most action in goal, going 5-5 with a .391 saves percentage and a 12.70 GAA.
All-Time Series:
- This will be the 19th meeting all-time between the two schools with the Retrievers holding a commanding 16-2 lead in the series.
- UMBC has won the last three after losing in 2018. Last year, the Retrievers defeated the Bearcats 27-16 in Baltimore. UMBC has never lost at home to Binghamton.
Models of Consistency:
- Claire Bockstie has recorded a point in every game since she stepped foot on campus in 2020, a streak that spans 29 games. She has scored at least one goal in 28 of those 29 games, with that streak being snapped against Johns Hopkins this year.
- Similarly, Dymin Gerow is currently on an 11-game point streak and has recorded a point in 18 of her 20 career games.
Milestone Watch:
- Bockstie is closing in on 100 career goals, needing just three to achieve the mark.
- Dymin Gerow and Olivia Docal (Glenwood, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) are approaching 100 career points with Gerow needing 23 and Docal needing 30.
Among the Best:
- The Retrievers are right up there among the nation's best in several statistical categories. The Retrievers are fifth in saves percentage and are 21st in ground balls per game.
- UMBC is 19th in the nation in scoring offense.
- Bockstie is third in shots on goal per game and first in shots per game. Bockstie is also sixth in the country in goals per game. Gerow is also ranked third in free position goals per game.
