Women's Basketball Road Trip Continues on Saturday at Temple

The UMBC Women's Basketball team plays its third of five-straight road contests on Saturday when it heads to Philadelphia to face Temple. Tip-off is slated for 3:30 p.m. with all the action being available on ESPN+.

Last Time Out:
  • The UMBC women's basketball team suffered a 72-38 defeat at Lafayette on Wednesday evening. The Retrievers fell to 2-4 on the season.
  • KK White led the way with 11 points and Kiara Bell contributed 10 rebounds.
  • But UMBC hit only 17-of-55 shots from the floor (30.9 percent), while Lafayette buried 31-of-60 (51.7 percent).  
Scouting Temple
  • The Temple women's basketball team (2-5) fell to the Old Dominion Monarchs (4-3) 77-65 Wednesday night in Norfolk.
  • Temple forward Jalynn Holmes set a Temple career-high with 12 points.
  • She last topped this on 3/4/21 when she was attending Norfolk State.
  • Ines Piper  filled the stat sheet a with eight points, six rebounds, and four steals.
  • The Owls shot 20-22 on free throws
Series History
  • The teams have only met twice before, in 1994 and 1995
  • The road team won each contest as the Retrievers took a 41-37 decision in Philadelphia in 1994, but the Owls returned the favor the following year with a 38-36 win at the RAC.
The Retrievers continue their road-swing at Houston on Wednesday night.
