BALTIMORE – The UMBC women's swimming and diving team captured 15 of 16 events in a meet versus America East Conference foe VMI in the Retrievers' first home meet of the 2022-23 season.

Claire Custance and juniors
Roaa Farag and
Makaela Hill each won a pair of events for the Retrievers. Custance triumphed in both breaststroke events, Farag captured the 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle, while Hill cruised to wins in both sprint freestyle events.
"Today was a great show of what we can do when we are firing on all cylinders," said Head Coach
Matt Donovan. "This team is flying a little under the radar, but people should keep an eye out. We are going to do good things this season. I am very excited for our next big meet in December."
Individual winners for the Retrievers included:
UMBC also won the opening 200 medley relay and the closing 400 freestyle relay. They triumphed, 201-92.
The meet marked the final home appearance for senior
Grace Johnson, who will be graduating in December.
The Retrievers will compete in the ECAC Winter Championships Dec. 2-4 in East Meadow, N.Y.
