  • Selected to the 2022-23 America East Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team.
  • Named to 2020-21 America East All-Academic Team
  • Named to 2021-22 America East All-Academic Team
  • Selected as the Most Outstanding Swimmer of the 2022 America East Championships 
  • Named the team’s 2021-22 Most Valuable Athlete 
  • Selected to 2021-22 CSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team
2022-23
  • Finished her college career by cruising to a victory in the 200 backstroke at the 2023 America East Championships
  • Defended her title in that event, setting a league record in the process
  • Posted a pair of second place finishes in both of the 100 backstroke and 200 IM in Worcester
  • Captured the 100 backstroke at the NJIT Invitational
2021-22
  • Set a league record and won the elusive 200 backstroke over the three-time defending champion, UNH's Anna Metzler, on the final night 
  • Completed the race in 1:56.14 (an NCAA “B” cut) , setting the only women's record to be broken in the championships. 
  • Also triumphed in the 100 backstroke event and was part of both 200 and 400 medley relay quartets that won gold.
  • Capped her season by producing a team-best second place finish in the 200 backstroke at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships.
  • Named America East Swimmer of the Week after winning the 100 and 200 backstroke and 200 IM in UMBC’s dramatic win over Towson on Nov. 6
  • Won the 200 IM in the opener versus Delaware and Johns Hopkins

2020-21

  • The fourth-seeded swimmer captured the 100 backstroke at the America East Championships in a career best time of 55.74
  • Placed second in the 200 back and fourth in the 200 IM at NJIT
  • Captured the 100 back and 200 IM at VMI

2019-20:

  • One of UMBC’s top-performing swimmers at the America East Championships
  • Placed second in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events and captured third in the 200 IM
  • Set personal bests in all three events
  • Won the 200 backstroke and placed second in the 100 back versus George Mason

2018-19:

  • Earned silver in the 200 back at the America East Championships with a time of 2:01.48.
  • Also finished fifth in the 100 back (57.01) and eighth in the 200 IM (2:07.10).
  • Against East Carolina, finished fourth in the 100 back, sixth in the 200 IM, and seventh in the 200 back.
  • At the Patriot Invitational, finished 22nd  in the 200 back with a season-best time of 2:07.23.
  • In her collegiate debut against William and Mary, finished fourth in the 200 back.

BACKGROUND:

  • Connecticut Swimming Top 16 for four years (2014-18)
  • Two-time Connecticut Girls M Champion in the 100 back
  • Named the Lauralton Hall MVP in 2017
  • Earned All-State in swimming from 2015-17 and named All-Area Swim Team in 2016-17
  • 2016-17 Connecticut Swimming Scholar-Athlete
  • YMCA National Qualifier for the Water Rats Swim Team

PERSONAL:

  • Daughter of Jeff and Margy Sargent
  • Has one sister, Elizabeth, who swims at Seton Hall
  • Member of the National Chinese Honor Society and earned the Lauralton Hall Excellence in the Study of Chinese I award (2015-17)
  • Earned her undergraduate degree in psychology in May, 2022
