Box Score Highlights
DURHAM, N.H. - The UMBC women's lacrosse team used two scoring runs in the first and second halves of play to battle back from a 6-0 deficit in the first period to ultimately send their game against the New Hampshire Wildcats into overtime on Saturday afternoon. However, the Wildcats would find the back of the net with 1:03 to play in the second OT period to take the victory, 14-13.

New Hampshire and UMBC both sit at 2-3 overall on the season and 1-2 in America East play.
STRAIGHT FACTS
New Hampshire opened the game on an eight-minute, six-goal scoring run, including three within the first three minutes of the game.
But, UMBC used its own five-goal run to battle back from the deficit, starting with an eight-meter goal from sophomore Megan Halczuk (Fawn Grove, Pa.) at the 18:41 mark.
Sophomore Claire Bockstie (Forest Hill, Md./Maryvale Preparatory) netted the next three goals for the Retrievers, including one off a pass from senior Courtney Renehan (Mt. Airy, Md./Glenelg/Maryland) to put UMBC within two, 6-4, with 10:34 to play.
Freshman Dymin Gerow (Baltimore, Md./Episcopal) capped the scoring run for the Retrievers five minutes later with a solo shot in transit to the net.
New Hampshire scored the final goal of the half with 4:38 to play to take the 7-5 lead into halftime.
Just 50 seconds into the second half, Bocksite netted her fourth of the game with a low bounce shot between the goalkeeper's legs to cut UNH's lead back to one, 7-6.
The Wildcats added another goal to take an 8-6 lead before Renehan and Gerow connected to cut the lead back to one with 20:47 to play.
UNH scored three consecutive goals to take an 11-7 lead in the game before senior Olivia Docal (Glenwood, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) put away a free-position goal for the Retrievers to close the gap down to three with a little over 13 minutes to play.
After New Hampshire added another to the board seconds later, the Retrievers scored five unanswered goals to take a 13-12 lead with 2:43 to play.
Renehan started the run as she added a goal to her day with 12:15 to play before she connected with Bockstie again at the 9:35 mark to put UMBC with two, 12-10.
Bockstie netted her sixth goal of the game off a pass from Rachel Ridgley (Owings Mills, Md./Franklin) to cut the lead to one with 5:20 on the clock.
Gerow collected a hat trick, her second of the season, to tie the game up at 12-12 before Docal put UMBC in the lead for the first time with an assist from Renehan.
New Hampshire ended UMBC's scoring run at the 2:18 mark to tied the game back up at 13-13.
In the first overtime period, senior Lily Kennedy (Marriotsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) got the only shot off for the Retrievers.
The Wildcats took a shot with 1:34 on the clock in the second overtime period, but senior goalkeeper Lexi Roberts (Baldwin, Md./Fallston/Army West Point) was able to make the stop. However, UNH scored the golden goal just seconds later.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
17 - the number of draw controls UMBC brought down on the day, 11 of which belong to Halczuk, marking a new career-high for the sophomore (the most in a game by a Retriever is 12 set by Caitlin Miller in 2015.)
11 - the number of consecutive games that Bockstie has recorded a point, dating back to the shortened 2020 season; this is her seventh multi-goal game.
9 - the number of saves Roberts made in the net.
4 - the number of assists Renehan dished out on the afternoon, marking a career-high. It also marks the first game all season she has recorded an assist.
ONTO THE NEXT ONE
UMBC will stay on the road as they travel to take on Binghamton on Saturday, March 27 at 1 p.m. This is the first of two matchups between the Retrievers and Bearcats; Binghamton will visit UMBC as the final home game of the 2021 season on April 24.
