Baltimore, Md. – The UMBC men's swimming and diving team competed against Delaware and Johns Hopkins at the UMBC Aquatics Complex on Saturday afternoon.
"Today was a tremendous first step towards our 2021-2022 goals," said head coach Matt Donovan. "We had a lot of great efforts in the pool today. We are eager to get back to practice Monday and continue to work on all of the elements that will lead us to have a highly successful season this year."
Will Henrickson (Ellicott City, Md) was UMBC's top diver, finishing first in the 3-meter with a score of 235.05. He finished third in the 1-meter with a score of 209.33. Dom Tobin (Frankfort, Ill.) finished second in the 3-meter with a score of 221.25, while also having the single highest scoring dive of the meet (VIDEO).
Kai Wisner (Syracuse, N.Y.) won the Men's 1000 free for UMBC in a time of 9.33.89. He then took second in the Men's 500 Yard Free with a time of 4.43.97, behind teammate Samuel Jyawook (Franklin, Tenn.), who won with a time of 4.39.24.
The Retrievers will travel to Navy next on Saturday, October 23 at 11:00PM. Their next home meet will be against Towson Saturday, November 6 at 1:00PM.
