Baltimore, Md.-- UMBC baseball will conclude their nine-game season-opening road swing at local-rival Towson on Tuesday. The Retrievers are coming off a 2-1 series loss to Stetson this weekend. The Retrievers took game one 9-8 on Friday before falling in the last two games 8-7 (F/12) and 5-0 to fall to 1-7 on the year.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC comes into the midweek tilt at 1-7 picking up their first win of the season at Stetson in the series opener on Friday. The Retrievers used a big eight-run second inning to propel them to the victory before falling in game two, 8-7 (F/12) and 5-0 in the finale.
-Dmitri Floyd (Dover, Del.) leads the team at the plate with a .375 batting average scoring a team-high five runs. Christian Torres (Miami, Fla.) is just behind him at .300 with nine hits, three doubles, two triples, and one home run. Blaze O'Saben (Warrenton, Va.) leads the team with 10 hits and seven stolen bases.
-On the mound, Keegan Leffler (Wilton, N.Y.) has yet to surrender an earned run in five appearances. Joe Nestel (Drexel Hill, Pa.) has struck out a team-best 12 batters in 10.1 innings.
Scouting the Tigers:
-Towson sits at 2-7 on the year after most recently being swept by #7 Miami (Fla.) this weekend. The Tigers narrowly dropped a 2-1 decision in game one before losing 8-2 and 9-3 in the last two games.
-Javon Fields has been the leader at the plate for the Tigers. Fields is batting .289 with 11 hits, six RBI and five stolen bases. Burke Camper and Colin Conroy are also batting over .250 at .258 and .250 respectively.
-Kody Reeser will get the start on the bump for the Tigers on Tuesday. Reeser has a 6.48 ERA in three appearances with a 1-1 record. He has struck out four, giving up six hits and six earned runs.
All-Time Series:
-This will be the first of two meetings this year and the 95th all-time between the two local-rivals with Towson leading the series 51-42-1. Last year, the Tigers swept the season series with a 7-2 win in Baltimore and an 8-7 win in Towson.
-UMBC has won four of the last six in Towson dating back to the 2014 season.
On Deck:
-The Retrievers will kick off the home portion of their schedule with a pair of games this weekend against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday and against Penn State on Saturday.
