Biography

2021: Made 10 appearances with five starts on the hill for the Retrievers in 2021… He went 3-1 in 24.2 innings of work… He gave up 26 hits and 26 earned runs with 25 strikeouts… Made his season debut against Delaware State on March 7, going five innings to pick up a win, giving up one hit, no runs and striking out seven… Had a six strikeout game against Maine on March 27.

2020: Made three starts in his first season with the Retrievers, going 1-1 in 16.1 innings of work… He struck out 16, giving up 15 hits and 10 earned runs for a 5.51 ERA… Made his Retriever debut against Charlotte on February 22, going 6.0 innings with two earned runs and five strikeouts in a loss… Had a season-best seven strikeouts in an 8-7 loss to Stetson… Picked up a win against Penn State on March 7, going 6.0 innings with four strikeouts.

Background: 2019 Division 3 JUCO National Champion and JUCO World Series All-Tournament Team... Finished with a 2.90 ERA last year... Had a complete game shutout in game 2 of JUCO World Series... Third Team All-Philadelphia Catholic League during his senior season... Also lettered in soccer.

Personal: Son of Brian and Maureen Nestel... Has three older siblings, Brian, Shanna and Devon... Favorite pro team are the Philadelphia Phillies and favorite musical artist is Drake.
