Khoshatefeh Fills Stat Sheet in Loss to Loyola (Md.)

BALTIMORE -- Niki Khoshatefeh (Temecula, Calif.) filled the stat sheet with seven kills (.389), four blocks and four digs, but host Loyola (5-5) got by the visiting UMBC Volleyball team in four sets (25-20, 26-28, 25-17, 25-22) to win the Charm City Challenge presented by Residence Inn Owings Mills on Saturday. 

Carmen Freeman (Memphis, Tenn.) paced the Retrievers (3-6) on offense, racking up 11 kills. She also picked up 13 digs to complete her fourth straight double-double. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Senior libero Brooke Hayden (Mt.Airy, Md.) tied for the match-lead with 19 digs, while Anouk Van Noord (Amsterdam, Netherlands) finished with four kills and four blocks of her own. Kamani Conteh (New Castle, Del.) and Becca Elrod (Cary, Ill.) had seven kills each.

UMBC travels to Boulder, Colorado next weekend for the Colorado Classic. The Retrievers will face Campbell on Friday night before taking on the host Buffaloes and Oakland on Saturday.
