Box Score BALTIMORE - The UMBC women's lacrosse team closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Wednesday, falling to the UC Davis Aggies, 10-7.
STRAIGHT FACTS -
The Aggies opened the game with two quick goals before Payton Van Kirk (Ocean City, Md./Stephen Decatur) netted a pass from Olivia Docal (Glenwood, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) to cut the lead to 2-1.
After UC Davis got back a goal to take a 3-1 lead, Zoë Pekins (Columbia, Md./Hammond) scored and assisted on a Van Kirk goal to tie the game up at 3-3 with 12:56 left in the first half.
The Aggies closed the first half out with two more goals to take a 5-3 lead into halftime.
43 seconds out of the break, Docal scored her first of the game before Grayson Corbett (Ellicott City/Wilde Lake) added a goal to tie the game at 5-all.
UC Davis put another tally on the board before Pekins put a shot into the net off an assist from Julia Hatmaker (Woodbine, Md./Century) to tie everything back up at 6-6.
The Aggies went on a three-goal scoring run to take a 9-6 lead, cut by a free position goal by Corbett before UC Davis scored the final goal of the game.

UC Davis improves to 7-6 on the season as UMBC falls to 2-9. The Retrievers finish their non-conference schedule with a 2-8 record.
