Men's Cross Country Wraps Up Season at NCAA Regionals

Bethlehem, Pa. – The UMBC men's cross country team concluded its 2017 by competing in the NCAA Regional Championships at Lehigh University. The Retrievers placed 19th of the 26 teams in the race.

 

Senior Urgy Eado (Rockville, Md.) and junior Nathan Nadal (Silver Spring, Md.) crossed the line nearly simultaneously, as Eado placed 90th and Nadal 91st in times of 32:13.0 and 32:13.2 respectively over the 10k course.

 

Junior Matthew Kane (Sykesville, Md./Century), senior Rhys Burgett (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and sophomore Matt Bennett (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) also scored for the Retrievers. Kane (121) crossed the line in 32.42.5, Burgett (127) finished in 32:58.9, while Bennett (128) came in at 33:03.6

 

Princeton won the meet, while Georgetown's Jonathan Green placed first overall in a time of 30:28.3.
