Biography

Accolades: (2014-15) Named to the America East Commissioners' Honor Roll.

 

2017: A co-Unsung Hero for the team in his senior season… Competed in all six meets and scored in the final four… UMBC’s No. 3 finisher at the Princeton Invitational and the second Retriever to cross the tape at the America East Championships.

 

2016: Competed in all five meets… Led the Retrievers at the Navy Invitational and placed 13th overall… Posted his best 8k time at the Princeton Invitational with a mark of 25:36.2, UMBC’s fourth runner across the line… Placed second for UMBC in the America East Championships, finishing in 38th position overall.

 

2015: Ran in every race for UMBC during his sophomore season, scoring in three of the six races... Kicked off the year at the Mount 5K Duals, finishing in 16:18... Had his best 8k finish at the Princeton Invitational, finishing the race in a time of 25:23, placing 73rd overall. 

 

2014: Ran in all but one race for the Retrievers... He opened the year with a 20th place finish at the Mount 5K Duals, crossing the finish line in 16:07... Had his best finish at the Navy Invite in September, finishing in 40th place in a time of 26:26... Ran a 27:00 at the America East Championships, helping the Retrievers to a third place finish. 

 

Background: Won back to back state championships his junior and senior campaigns in cross country... Son of Barbara and Kit Burgett… Has two sisters, Kiera and Bryn, and one brother Ryan.
