League-High Three Retrievers Earn AE All-Academic Honors

BOSTON-  Three members of UMBC women's tennis team – junior Mariami Dolashvili (Alushta, Ukraine), and sophomores Laura Ambrozic  (Portoroz, Slovenia ) and Alice Taylor (Great Gransden, England) – earned America East All-Academic Team honors, the league announced today.

UMBC led the conference with three representatives on the nine-member squad.

Dolashvili, who is maintaining a 3.48 grade-point average in global studies, produced a brilliant 2015 spring, earning America East First Team honors in singles and doubles. She suffered an injury midway through the 2016 campaign, but did battle back to compete in the league championships.  

Ambrozic , selected as the team's co-Most Valuable Athlete, has earned a 3.63 GPA financial economics to date. She was tabbed to the America East Women's Tennis All-Conference squad after recording nine victories this spring.

Taylor has earned a 3.73 grade-point average through three semesters in economics. Taylor, who competed primarily in the No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles positions, amassed nine victories during the campaign.
