Women's Tennis Blanks Hosts Hartford, Fairfield

The UMBC women's tennis team blanked both Connecticut foes this weekend, recording identical 7-0 decisions at Hartford and Fairfield.

Against Fairfield, UMBC's No. 1 (Kurasz/Dolashvili) and 3 doubles (Siopacha/Taylor) duos cruised to 6-1 victories to secure the doubles point.

All six singles matches went to the visiting Retrievers in straight sets. Sophomore Alice Taylor did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 position, while senior Madlena Kurasz lost just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 decision at the No. 3 position.

The women travel to Ohio for weekend matches at Youngstown State and Akron on Feb. 27 and 28.
