Omar Leads UMBC to Fifth Place Finish at Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J.-- Junior Hassan Omar (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) continued his strong season, turning in a  fourth place finish for the Retrievers. UMBC as a team finished in fifth place.

Omar crossed the tape in 24:06, finishing just six seconds behind the winner, Thomas Awad from Penn.

Austin Hayslett (Mount Airy, Md./Urbana) and Eric Schuler (Columbia, Md/Reservoir) finished in 28th and 29th respectively. Hayslett crossed the line in 24:47, while Schuler was just a second behind at 24:48.

Jon Luckin (Parkton, Md./Hereford) was next across the finish line at 25:11 in 58th place. Noah Hutton (Whitehall, Md./North Harford/Philadelphia U) rounded out the scorers for UMBC, finishing in 83rd place, with a time of 25:27.

UMBC is back in action on November 1, when they look to repeat as America East Champions. The championship meet will be hosted by the University of Maine.
