Biography

2015: Hayslett finished his Retriever career by competing and scoring in every race in 2015... Ran a season best time of 24:55 twice at the Paul Short Invite and the Princeton Invitational... Earned America East First Team honors with his fifth place finish at the championships in Stony Brook (25:14).

2014: Competed, and scored in all six meets in 2014... Was the Retrievers' top finisher at the Mount 5K Duals, placing 4th with a time of 15:28... Recorded his time of the year at the Paul Short Inivitational with a run of 24:45... Finished in 26th place at the Navy Invite in a time of 25:49... At the America East Championships, he placed 12th with a time of 25:27 helping UMBC to a third place finish.

2013: Competed in all six of UMBC’s meets, scoring four times for the Retrievers as a sophomore… Placed 14th overall at the America East Championships, helping UMBC capture its first conference title since 2005… Completed the 8k course in Vestal, N.Y. with a time of 25:28.94… Recorded the fourth-fastest 8k time in school history by crossing the line at the Princeton Invitational with a time of 24:51… Also scored at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Lehigh where the Retrievers earned their first-ever top-ten regional finish… Completed the 10k Goodman Course with a time of 32:01, the seventh-fastest time in program history… Earned his first scoring spot of the year at the Paul Short Invitational.

2012: Ran in five of UMBC’s seven races as a freshman, scoring twice… At the season-opening Spider Alumni Open at Richmond, he finished the 5k course in a time of 15:41.70, the ninth-fastest time in school history… Earned his first career scoring slot at the Navy Invitational on Sept. 15… Ran a career-best 8K time of 25:52.10 at the Princeton Invitational… Named to the America East Honor Roll.

Background: Named to the All-County First Team by the Frederick News Post in both 2010 and 2011... Also selected to the First Team by The Gazette for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 indoor and outdoor track seasons... Helped win the 2012 indoor state championship in the 4x800 relay.

Personal: Son of Sean and Nicole Hayslett... Has two younger siblings, Alyssa and Nicolas... Both parents ran track in high school... Plans to major in mathematics... Born May 30, 1994.
