Junior Marie Abongwa is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after sh set a school record in the hammer and earned two medals to lead UMBC's efforts at the 2025 George Mason Dalton Ebanks Invitational this weekend.  Abongwa took the silver medal after her effort of 51.68 meters (169'7") in the hammer and placed third in the shot put with a toss of 13.62 meters (44'8.25").  UMBC Hall of Famer and Olympian Cleopatra Borel previously held the hammer mark.
