Thursday, August 27

The Retrievers (3-0-1) are undefeated through four contests for the first time since 2014, when they opened the season with four straight victories. The Dawgs lead the conference with 12 goals (3.00 per game), nine assists and 18.50 shots per game. The Red Storm (1-2-1) dropped their first two contests of the season against UMass and Boston College but picked up their first victory against Towson last Thursday. The squad also earned a draw versus Columbia over the weekend. SJU went 3-9-5 in 2025 and was just 1-6-3 in the Big East. They were outscored 25-10 on the season.

UMBC (1-0) defeated Loyola (Md.), 3-2, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 3,806 to take home the Blake Elliott Cup on Sunday evening at Retriever Soccer Park. Gunder Miller, Flynn Holdem and Abdul Kamara scored for the Dawgs, which helped Holdem be named the America East Rookie of the Week. Presbyterian (0-2) is coming off a 1-0 home loss to Ferrum on last Thursday and a 3-1 loss at VMI on Monday afternoon. Mo Alahmad scored the lone goal on the season for the Blue Hose, who went 7-8-5 (3-3-1 Big South) in 2025. 

Saturday, August 29

Volleyball season gets under way at the Country Roads Challenge hosted by West Virginia. The defending America East champion UMBC Volleyball team was named the preseason favorite in a vote of the Conference's six head coaches, The Retrievers received all five possible first place votes as coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team. Last November, UMBC defeated UAlbany in four sets to win its fifth America Eat title in six seasons. UMBC returns all but one player from its 2025 roster.  UTRGV were picked to finish second in the Southland, receiving three first-place votes, after going 22-8 (15-1 SLC) in 2025. The Vaqueros made it all the way to the SLC title game before falling to eventual champions Stephen F. Austin.

Sunday, August 30

Women's Soccer at Delaware | 1 pm | Newark, Del.

The Blue Hens are 2-0-1 after a 2-2 tie in their most recent outing against Navy. Delaware owns home wins against George Washington and VCU. Maggie Groh is off to a fast start with four goals and an assist to pace the squad. The senior forward was a 2025 All-CUSA Third Team pick after recording a team-best 15 points (5 goals, 5 assists).
