Enazajah Young broke her own school record in the 60 hurdles as the UMBC Women's Indoor Track & Field team opened 2026 on Friday at the VCU Rams Indoor Invitational in Virginia Beach.
Young broke the school record last month in her first collegiate race, and then broke it again on Friday in her second career meet, as she won the event in 8.37. Classmate
Winter Evans took fourth in the event with a time of 8.80.Â

Lilly Norcross (10:31.79) and
Lily Strelecki (10:34.01) swept the podium in the 3000.
In the field events,
Marie Abongwa finished third in the weight throw (16.74) and fourth in the shot put (13.20), whileÂ
Chia Nwankwo finished fifth in the shot put (14.46).
