BALTIMORE -- The UMBC Volleyball team gave Big Ten Maryland all it could handle on Sunday, before dropping a tough four-setter (24-26, 25-23, 25-22, 28-26) on Sunday in front of 1,023 fans at The Peake.

Jalynn Brown led all players with 18 kills and added nine digs, four blocks, two assists and an ace. Serin Maden was named to the All-Tournament Team after contributing 22 assists and seven digs in a split role at setter.

Claudia Llamas continued her hot start to the season with 14 kills, four blocks and two aces, while Jada James tallied nine kills, seven digs, three blocks and a pair of assists.

Laura Fuehrer had her second 10 block performance of the weekend, and Izzy Ostvig filled the stat sheet with 15 assists, four kills, four blocks and an ace. 

Ema Djordjevic tallied six digs a block and an ace, while Ella McAllister had four digs.

The Retrievers play road contests at Georgetown, George Washington and George Mason next weekend.
