Men's & Women's Track & Field Set to Compete In 2025 America East Outdoor Championships this Weekend

BOSTON - All nine #AETF schools will travel to the campus of New Hampshire this weekend for the 2025 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The two-day event, beginning Saturday, May 3rd, will be streamed live on ESPN+.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW 

  • Last Year: The River Hawk were crowned America East Men's Outdoor Champions for the second consecutive year with a total of 167 points. On the women's side, UAlbany took home the trophy with 243 points for the 15th consecutive year and 17th all-time.  

  • Regional Rankings: On the men's side, UAlbany leads the America East in the Northeast region at No. 5, followed by UMass Lowell at No. 15, Binghamton at No. 16, New Hampshire at No. 18, and Maine at No. 25. In the Mid-Atlantic region, UMBC comes in at No. 15.
    On the women's side, UAlbany is ranked No. 5 in the Northeast, with Bryant at No. 21, New Hampshire at No. 23, and Binghamton at No. 25. UMBC is ranked No. 23 in the Mid-Atlantic.

 
WOMEN'S ATHLETES TO WATCH

Genelle Stephens

  • Stephens ranks first in the 400 meter hurdles (59.84)
  • Ranks 2nd in the 400 meters (55.29) and 3rd in the 200 meters (24.39)
Marie Abongwa
  • Abongwa ranks first in the shot put (44'8.25")
  • She also slots sixth in the hammer (169'7") and 11th in the discus (123'0")

Chia Nwankwo

  • Ranks third in the shot put (43'10.75")

Lexi Tepper

  • Tepper is ranked 2nd in the 1,500 meters (4:34.63) as well as 10th in the 800 meters (2:16.14)

Shannel Sibblies

  • Ranks 3rd in the 400 meters (55.50)

Judy McLaughlin

  • Slots 3rd in the 800 meters (2:14.42)


MEN'S ATHLETES TO WATCH

Alpha Balde

  • Balde heads into the conference championship as the top seed in both the 100m (10.20) and 200m (21.02).
  • The sophomore sprinter also runs key legs on the Retrievers' 4x400m relay (3:08.94), which leads the conference, and the 4x100m relay (39.73), which ranks second in the league.

Marquis Miller

  • Enters as the top seed in the 400 meters (46.85) and is sixth in the 200 meters (21.47).

Tyler Edson

  • Slots second in the 800 meters (1:48.96)

losif Papa, UMBC

  • Enters as the top seed in the discus (193'11")

Ethan Hart, UMBC

  • Enters as the second seed in the shot put (55'2.25")

Toren Burr, UMBC

  • Slots second in the javelin (206'11")

John Dinnall

  • Is ranked third in the 110 hurdles (14.77)
