  • Junior Connor Chick and sophomore Ryan Demato each tallied a hat trick as the Retrievers cruised to a 17-7 America East Conference victory against the Binghamton Bearcats on April 12th at UMBC Stadium. 
  • The Dawgs held a 51-24 shot advantage, and the visitors committed 17 turnovers, 13 of which were caused by the Retrievers' stifling defense.  
  • Connor McMahon was excellent in goal once again as the junior made 16 saves in 60 minutes of action to record his sixth victory of the season  
  • Junior Alex Steers went 19-for-25 on faceoffs and picked up seven ground balls, while senior Trey Fleece matched him with another seven.
  • Sophomore midfielder Dylan Sharpe recorded a game-high four caused turnovers and added six ground balls.  
  • UMBC's Galloway is second in the league in points per game (3.33) and sixth in goals per game (1.83).   
  • Connor Chick is fifth in the conference with 2.00 goals per game and has four hat-tricks on the season. 
  • Dylan Sharpe is second in the league in caused turnovers per game (2.00), and Dante Marinello is sixth (1.44). 
  • Connor McMahon is first in the conference in goals against average (9.44).   
  • Alex Steers ranks fourth (.575) in the AE in face-off percentage and is fifth in ground balls per game (5.00).  
  • Trey Fleece is seventh in the conference with 4.44 ground balls per game.  
  • UMBC is third in the country in clearing percentage (.920).  
  • The Retrievers can earn the #1 seed in the upcoming AE Tournament with a win against NJIT combined with a Bryant loss to either Binghamton or UMass Lowell.

ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS

  • Despite outscoring UMass Lowell 4-2 in the second half, NJIT lost 10-8 against the Riverhawks at Cushing Field last Saturday.
  • JC Echezuria scored two goals for his 11th and 12th goals of the season, and Benjamin Roberts added a goal and an assist.
  • Echezuria leads the squad with 12 goals and nine assists, while Alystair Hemberger has 10 goals and 2 assists. 
  • Tyler Sininsky has spent the most time in goal this season, allowing 11.53 goals per game and a .417 save percentage.
