Baseball Falls Late at George Washington

Arlington, Va. -- The UMBC Baseball team rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to take a late lead, but host George Washington plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh to knock-off the Dawgs, 7-4, on Tuesday afternoon.

Logan Wiley pitched four stellar innings of scoreless relief, while Nico Ong, Derek Paris and Anthony Mascuilli all had RBI for UMBC.

The Retrievers found themselves down 3-0 after two, but an Ong RBI single in the fifth closed the gap to 3-1. Paris then had a two-run double in the sixth to knot the score at six before Mascuilli drove home Paris with an RBI single for his first career hit and RBI.

The Revolutionaries would score four in the bottom of the seventh to re-take the lead for good.

Ehi Okojie also had his first career hit, while Matthew Best, Jesiah Carpenter, Kyle Eddington and Leewood Molessa also had hits. UMBC stole seven bases in the contest, led by Ong's two.

The Retrievers host Lehigh for a three game series this weekend.
