Men's Lacrosse Travels to Bryant on Saturday

DAWG BITES 

  • JR Tyler Barnett's goal with 1:11 remaining in overtime capped an incredible 13-12 comeback win for the Retrievers against the UAlbany Great Danes last Saturday afternoon. 

  • Junior attackman Connor Chick scored a career-high five goals, including three straight, to bring UMBC within 12-11 with 3:36 remaining in the fourth quarter.  

  • Senior midfielder Jordan Galloway contributed two goals and three assists. 

  • Barnett came off the bench to factor in UMBC's final three goals, including the game-winner. 

  • UMBC is looking to go 3-0 in the America East for the first time since 2009. The Retrievers and Binghamton are the lone AE teams to open with two conference wins. 

  • Galloway is second in the league in points per game (3.67) and is third in goals per game (2.17). 

  • Chick has moved up to fifth in the conference with 2.00 goals per game. 

  • Marinello is second in the league in caused turnovers per game (1.67). 

  • McMahon is third in the conference in goals against average (10.26). 

  • Corey Myers also slots in the AE Top-10 in goals (1.83) and points (2.33) 

  • Freshman Xander Maxwell is 10th in the league in points per game (2.33) 

  • Alex Steers ranks fifth (.561) in the AE in face off percentage and is sixth in ground balls per game (4.83). 

ABOUT BRYANT 

  • Despite a hat trick from Zac Amend and four points from Brian Russell, the Bryant men's lacrosse team fell to the Vermont Catamounts by a final score of 16-12 at Virtue Field in Burlington last Saturday. 

  • Amend and Luca Elmaleh tallied the first hat tricks of their collegiate careers against UAlbany. Amend led the two with four points (3g, 1a) while Elmaleh finished with three goals. 

  • The Bulldogs have excelled at EMO's so far this season. Bryant is seventh in the nation in man-up offense (.563) and leading scorer Dawson Rielly is tied for fourth in the NCAA in man-up goals with five. 

  • Bryant is ninth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (10.43). 

  • The Bulldogs are tied for 18th in the NCAA in scoring defense, allowing just 9.00 goals per game.
