Molessa Leads Baseball to America East Opening Win over UMass Lowell

BALTIMORE -- The UMBC Baseball team took down the UMass Lowell River Hawks 7-6 on Friday afternoon to open the America East schedule. 

Leewood Molessa led the offense with two hits, including a three run homerun in the fifth inning, four RBI, and a walk. Jessiah Carpenter had two hits and scored three runs. Anthony Mascuilli also had two hits and scored two runs. Derek Paris had two hits and an RBI. Danny Wyatt and Kyle Eddington also picked up a hit for the Retrievers. 

Nick Remy recorded his first win of the season on the mound for the Retrievers, not allowing UMass Lowell to score, facing nine batters. 

The UMBC Baseball team returns back to Alumni Field on Saturday for a doubleheader at 2pm and 5pm to wrap up the series against UMass Lowell. It will be streamed on AmericaEast.tv.
