BURLINGTON, VT – Jordon Lewis led the offense with 19 points and four rebounds but the Retrievers fell at Vermont, 79-59, to wrap up the regular season.
The Retrievers have secured the seventh seed in the America East Playoffs. Talia Davis contributed 10 points and a team high six rebounds. Jaliena Sanchez also had eight points, while Carmen Yánez had a team high six assists in the loss.
How it Happened:
- Walker opened the game with a jumper and the Retrievers led early 11-9 at the first timeout
- The Catamounts would go on a 8-0 run to take the lead and end the first quarter, 19-15 Vermont.
- Lewis opened the second quarter with a driving layup but the Catamounts went on a 9-0 run, 28-17 Vermont.
- The Catamounts had a strong second quarter putting up 25 points to end the first half, 44-25 Vermont.
- Vermont opened the second half making both free throws and the Retrievers outshot the Catamounts 18-17 but trailed 61-43 at the end of the third quarter.
- Vermont opened the fourth quarter with a three and would put the game away, 79-59.
The Retrievers will head back to Vermont to face the Catamounts for the America East Quarterfinals on Thursday. Time is TBD.
