BALTIMORE --
Leewood Molessa hit two of UMBC's seven homers on the day, but the Dawgs dropped a pair of wild contests to visiting Cornell on Saturday.
UMBC fell 8-7 in 10-innings in game one, before dropping a wild 16-13 seven inning game two.Â
Molessa, who homered in each game, went 3-for-7 with five RBI and a walk on the day.
Jesiah Carpenter and
Nico Ong each hit their first career homers in game 1, while
Danny Wyatt and
Derek Paris also went yard in the first contest.
Carver Salazar blasted his first career long ball in the night cap.
Luke Buscaglia had a pair of hits and an RBI in game one, while Carpenter went 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored in the the second game. Wyatt had an RBI double and
Kyle Eddington also droive in a run in game two.
Game three of the series was cancelled due to below freezing temperatures expected on Sunday. The Retrievers travel to George Washington on Tuesday afternoon
