Four Volleyball Standouts Named CSC Academic All-District; Howard Selected as Academic All-American Finalist

Four members of the America East champion UMBC Volleyball team were honored for their success off the court on Tuesday as the College Sports Communicators announced the Academic All-District team.

Helen Frankovich, Hannah Howard, Claudia Llamas and Izzy Ostvig were recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom.

This is the second straight-year earning the recognition for Frankovich, while Howard, the America Defensive Player of the Year and Championship's most Outstanding Player, was selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

The honors recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. In addition, 

Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 13, 2026.
