Maryland has defeated UMBC in all 16 of their regular-season contests. The two squads last met on November 21, 2023 with the Terrapins coming up with a 92-68 triumph.

UMBC is competing in its 57th season as a varsity men's basketball program and has compiled a 665-940 (.415) record during that span. The program began DI competition in 1986-87 and has recorded a 476-672 (.411) record in 39 season. 5th-year head coach Jim Ferry is the program's 10th all-time head coach. The Retrievers have competed in four DI conferences in their history. (East Coast, Big South, Northeast, America East).
 
ABOUT THE TERRAPINS

Maryland is coming off a 27-9 campaign in 2024-25 which saw the Terps reach the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2016. Buzz Williams was named the new head coach of the program last April.Williams has led his programs to 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and 13 20-win seasons in 18 years as a head coach. Most recently, Williams served as the head coach for six seasons at Texas A&M from 2019-2025, leading the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three seasons.
