Orono, Maine – The Maine Black Bears secured a 2-0 victory over the UMBC women's soccer team in an America East Conference match on Sunday afternoon, scoring both goals in the second half.
The Black Bears (3-6-3, 2-2-2 AE) opened the scoring in the 68th minute, with Britta Denny finding the net with a low shot in the center of the goal, assisted by Emma Nicholson and Jordane Pinette.
Maine added a second goal with 11:56 remaining when Julie Lossius scored, capitalizing on another assist from Nicholson. Lossius placed her shot low into the left corner of the net. Luise Reinwald also received an assist on the play.

Zoe Brossman led the Retrievers with three shots.
The Retrievers (6-7-3, 2-5 AE) struggled to generate quality scoring opportunities, being outshot 23-6 overall (8-3 on target). However, UMBC did earn four corner kicks compared to just two for Maine.
Next Sunday, the Retrievers will travel to New Hampshire for their upcoming match.
