Women's Basketball Falls at New Hampshire

Durham, N.H. -- Talia Davis led the team with 13 points and six rebounds and Jordon Lewis scored 12 second half points, but the visiting UMBC Women's Basketball team fell to host New Hampshire 56-39 on Thursday night.

Carmen Yánez led the team with six rebounds and contributed eight points and three assists.  


How it Happened:
  • Jaden Walker scored first with a layup, but UNH responded with a 6-0 run before Talia Davis scored five straight points for the Retrievers, 7-6 UMBC.
  • However, the Wildcats led 15-9 at the end of the first quarter. 
  • UNH started the second quarter with a turnaround, but Yánez made UMBC's first three, 17-12 UNH.
  • The Wildcats ended the first half with a 10-0 run, 27-12 UNH.
  • UNH opened the second half with a three and the Retrievers outscored UNH 18-17 at the end of the third quarter and go on to win.
The Retrievers head to Maine on Saturday for an afternoon game at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
