Llamas Has Career Day Against No.22 Dayton

Dayton, Ohio – Freshman Claudia Llamas led the team with a career-best 12 kills, but the UMBC Volleyball team dropped a tight three-setter to No.22 Dayton (4-0) on Sunday afternoon (25-17, 25-22, 25-23). 

Llamas played a well-rounded game as she committed only three errors and added six digs, and four aces. 

Graduate student Aysia Miller had a team-high 17 digs and four assists.

Senior Mila Ilieva marked six kills, three blocks, two digs, and one assist.

Junior Serin Maden finished with a team-high 15 assists and two digs, while freshman Izzy Ostvig had 13 assists, one kill, and one dig.

Senior Mia Bulisic and sophomore Helen Frankovich drove the offensive effort as they had seven kills each, a career-high for Frankovich

Abby Erickson was named to the All-Tournament team

The Retrievers have the week off before they host Lehigh on Saturday Sep 14., at 6 p.m. They will unveil their 2023 America East Championship Banner at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena prior to the match.
