Erickson, Frankovich and Ilieva Dominate, but Lehigh Inches Past Volleyball

BALTIMORE — Sophomore Helen Frankovich hit for .478 and recorded a career-high 13 kills, but several unlucky bounces went against the Retrievers as they dropped all three sets by two points (25-23, 31-29, 29-27) in a heartbreaking loss to Lehigh (6-3) on Saturday night at The Peake.

The match was the home-opener for the Retrievers as 1147 rowdy fans packed The Peake for the first time this season

Graduate student Abby Erickson hit for .556 and had 11 kills, one assist and three blocks, while senior Mila Ilieva had zero errors as she marked nine kills, five aces, three digs and one block.  

Freshman Izzy Ostvig lifted the offense with a career-high 22 assists, one kill, four digs, and a block. 

Sophomore Hannah Howard recorded a team-high 12 digs, alongside graduate student Aysia Miller who tallied 10 digs and one ace. 

Junior Serin Maden had a season-high 19 assists and four digs. 

The Retrievers will be back in action on Sunday as they travel to face Maryland in College Park at 3 pm.
