Miller’s Career-High 32 Digs Not Enough as Volleyball Drops Five Set Thriller to Big South Champion High Point

BALTIMORE — Graduate student Aysia Miller had a career-high 32 digs, but the UMBC Volleyball team fell in a five set nail-biter (25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 24-26, 16-14) to Big South champion High Point on Friday night at the Peake.

Miller's 32 digs were the most by a Retriever since Loren Teter recorded 32 on 10/29/21 against Hartford, and was Miller's second career 30-plus dig performance.

Senior Mia Bulisic notched a match-high 23 kills on .340 hitting, five digs, three blocks, and two aces.

Freshman Hannah Dobbs had career-high 17 kills, alongside sophomore Helen Frankovich with 7 kills, two digs, and two blocks.

Graduate student Abby Erickson finished with five kills, two kills, and four blocks.

Senior Mila Ilieva had a well-rounded performance with five kills, two digs, six blocks, and two aces.

The Panthers finished the match on a 3-0 run after UMBC had match point.

The Retrievers will be back as they play Princeton on Saturday at the Peake at 5 pm.
