Bilusic Powers Volleyball to Victory Over Princeton

BALTIMORE — Senior Mia Bilusic had her second straight 20 kill performance to give the UMBC Volleyball team a thrilling five set win (17-25, 25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 15-11) over Ivy League power Princeton on Saturday night at The Peake.

Bilusic, who tallied 23 kills on .340 hitting on Friday against High Point, clinched the win with her 20th kill. She also added two aces, nine digs, and two blocks. 

Graduate student Abby Erickson notched 10 kills on .318 hitting and added five blocks, while sophomore Helen Frankovich finished the game with 11 kills, two assists, and four blocks. 

Freshman Hannah Dobbs added 13 kills and classmate Izzy Ostvig tallied 22 assists,three kills and three blocks.

Graduate student Aysia Miller recorded 16 digs, two aces, and two assists, while Hannah Howard added 11 digs. 

Mila Ilieva had four kills and five blocks, while Jada James collected seven digs and Serin Maden picked up 27 assists and seven digs.

The Retrievers will be back in action Wednesday as they travel to #1 Pittsburgh for a 5 p.m. match.
