West Lafayette, IN. -- The UMBC Volleyball team kicked-off the 2024 campaign by dropping a four set battle to UC Davis (25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 25-15) on the campus of Purdue.
Mia Bilusic led the way with a 13 kill, 10 dig double-double, and added six blocks. Graduate student
Abby Erickson also had six blocks and added eight kills on .333 hitting.
Sophomore
Helen Frankovich had a career-best nine kills and two blocks, while freshman
Hannah Dobbs had nine kills in her debut.
Hannah Howard had a team-high 15 digs and added five assists in the contest.
Serin Maden had 17 assists and five digs, while freshman
Izzy Ostvig had 16 assists, three digs, two blocks and two kills.
Redshirt freshman
Jada James had seven assists in her first collegiate action.
The Retrievers will face host #8 Purdue tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
