West Lafayette, IN. -- The UMBC Volleyball team gave No.8 Purdue all it could handle in front of a sellout crowd of 2415 on Saturday night. The hosts pulled away late in all three sets to secure the three set victory (25-20, 25-20, 25-17).
Mila Ilieva led the way for the Retrievers with 10 kills on .318 hitting with a pair of blocks and three digs.
Hannah Howard and
Mia Bilusic each had a team-best 12 digs, with Bilusic adding nine kills of her own.
Hanah Dobbs chipped in seven kills, while
Izzy Ostvig and
Abby Erickson each had three. Ostvig also had 11 assists, and
Serin Maden added 15.
Helen Frankovich had two kills and two blocks as well.
The Dawgs close the weekend on Sunday with an 11:30 a.m. match against (RV) Kansas State.
