LEWISBURG, Pa. – The UMBC women's soccer team fell by a score of 3-0 against the Bucknell Bison on Thursday evening at Emmit Field. The Retrievers fell to 0-2 on the young season.
Henna Andican, Teresa Deda, and Katie Connell all scored their second goals of the season, as the Bison improved to 2-0-1.
Andican put in the game-winner just 2:46 in as Kelley Francis played Andican into the left edge of the area, and Andican cut back and snuck a shot inside the far post past UMBC keeper
Abbey Cowles (5 saves).
Bucknell outshot UMBC 15-2 in the first half, but the Retrievers remained in the contest as they trailed just 1-0 at the break. But Deda and Connell added insurance markers on strikes from outside the box in the second half.
Sophomore
Payton Schenning fired a pair of shots for UMBC, who will travel to Iona on Sunday afternoon.
