Little Falls, N.J. -- The UMBC Baseball team dropped a 12-3 decision in the series finale at NJIT on Sunday afternoon.
The Highlanders jumped out to a an early 6-0 lead and never looked back, en route to taking the rubber match.
Matthew Best had an RBI double,
Danny Wyatt had an RBI sacrifice fly and
Matt Ryan scored on a wild pitch to account for the Retrievers runs.
Justin Taylor and
Derek Paris had the other hits for UMBC, who got a scoreless 2.1 innings of relief from
Nick Remy.
The Dawgs return to Alumni Field to host Towson on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
