Carmen Yánez tied a career-high with 12 points, but the UMBC Women's Basketball team dropped a 69-45 decision on Saturday at defending champion Vermont.
The Retrievers got the first basket of the game, but the hosts took the lead moments later and never looked back.
Anna Blount paced the team with eight rebounds to go along with seven points, while
Jaden Walker,
Jaliena Sanchez and
Trinity Palacio each added six points for UMBC.
Jordon Lewis added four points and
Paloma Iradier and
Laura Lacambra watch recorded a bucket.
The Retrievers return to The Peake on Thursday to host Binghamton at 7 p.m.
