BALTIMORE -- The 2025 UMBC Softball schedule was released by head coach
Chris Kuhlmeyer on Wednesday.
A challenging non-conference slate awaits the Retrievers prior to the always formidable America East schedule.
The Dawgs open up the season on February 14 with a tournament at East Carolina featuring Radford and nationally ranked Boston University in addition to the host Pirates.
UMBC will then open the home schedule with a five game slate February 21-23. The Retrievers will have an "Opening Night" against Niagara on Friday, followed by a doubleheader with the Purple Eagles the next day. On Sunday, defending NEC champion Saint Francis makes its way to The Diamond for a doubleheader.
A trip to the University of Georgia follows the next weekend as UMBC heads to Athens for a tournament featuring the Bulldogs, Stetson and Ohio State.
UMBC then hosts its first tournament of the season as they welcome Cornell, Fairleigh Dickinson, Holy Cross and Rhode Island to Baltimore, as each team will play five games.
The midweek slate then begins on March 11 as the Dawgs travel to crosstown rival Towson, followed by returning home to host George Mason the next night.
UMBC will then host its final non-conference tournament of the season from March 14-16, when the Dawgs welcome Canisius, Colgate, Lehigh and Manhattan
Non-conference play officially concludes on March 19th when Hofstra comes to town.
America East play follows the next two weekend as UMass Lowell and Binghamton each come to Baltimore for three games.
The Retrievers then head to Maine for a series with the Black Bears before returning home to host defending champion UAlbany, followed by Bryant for senior weekend.
The final two weekends of the regular season feature return trips to Binghamton and UMass Lowell, before the Conference tournament begins on May 7 at Binghamton.
